Reconstruction of the synagogue 2002

After WWII, the building was damaged by radical architectonical changes: The interior of the synagogue was divided by new walls, a chimney was built in its center, the upper arches of the large façade windows were walled up, and new staircases were built. Also, the synagogue’s Ten Commandments disappeared along with the gable itself, a door to the garden was knocked through the wall, and the Star of David above the entrance door was eliminated.
